While there are many species of dwarf hamster, few make suitable pets. They are tiny creatures that require specific care to ensure safety. Dwarf Hamster care can be a rewarding experience if it's done correctly.

A mere look at them could indicate how delicate and nimble the creature is. Dwarf hamster care requires certain needs like being kept in an enclosed area. Aquariums, plastic cages, or large wire cages might work as well. You need to be on the alert for any kind of cracks or open spaces because hamsters have a tendency to escape when confronted with even the slightest opportunity. Wire cages can be good, but be careful of the escape factor. Today, thanks to the introduction of tubular tubes, managing dwarf hamster care is now easy becasuse you can provide a place for them to live comfortably in their own cosy environment.

Another choice is the 10-20 gallon tank or wire cage. Hamsters are dynamic in nature and love to run about and play. So, in order to enable them to execute their activities freely you need to provide them with enough space. As an additional toy you can include the wheel on which your dwarf hamster can run as much as he wants.

Another necessary requirement is a 2-3 inches layer of substrate at the bottom of the cage, or aquarium. Their favorite past time, burrowing, will be easy to enjoy because of this. The substrate requires replacement every week. There is a need to make nests, so dwarf hamster care should include things that encourage this behavior. Because they need lots of stuff to burrow in, the substrate will help this process. Owners can supply such things as paper towels, cotton, or tissues with which they can make small nest for their own privacy. The creatures are shy and require ample space and privacy.

Due to the high metabolism components in their body, they need to be fed on a regular basis. Food ranging from pellets, seeds, fruits and vegetables are among the other food items that need to be supplied when you're managing dwarf hamster care. Dwarf hamsters are in constant need of a fresh water supply, so you'll need to replace it regularly, if not daily. You should also keep in mind to include chewing toys. Because of the rate at which their teeth grow, this may be the most important thing they need. The dwarf hamster needs chewing substances in order file down their ever growing teeth. If they don't, their teeth can harm them, or kill them.

The substrate needs to be replaced on a weekly basis and the other accessories need weekly cleaning. Only light solution of soap and water should be used for cleansing of the cage and the accessories.
